Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) recently celebrated 25 years of Paint The Town™! On Saturday, June 9th, 100 teams of volunteers joined forces to paint and revitalize 86 homes for senior and/or disabled residents throughout the Treasure Valley.  More than 2,000 volunteers used 1,300 gallons of paint and primer to beautify homes in ten communities!

“Our community has much to be proud of,” stated Tom Lay, NHS Executive Director.  “From June 2-9, NHS joined over 240 NeighborWorks® organizations in National NeighborWorks® Week, working to revitalize and clean-up neighborhoods. Paint The Town™ contributes 2,000 volunteers to this nationwide effort, making it the largest National NeighborWorks® Week event in the country!”

NHS truly appreciates the Paint The Town™ sponsors: 94.9, The River, Idaho’s NewsChannel 7, Banner Bank, Idaho Business Review, Washington Mutual, Allstate Insurance, U.S. Bank, BMC West and Ada County Association of Realtors. Support also came from numerous corporate and in-kind donors, including KWAL Paint, Wal-Mart, CITI and many more.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors and to the thousands of volunteers who helped make the 25th Anniversary of Paint The Town™ such a great success!
