Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) was pleased to be the recipient of a $1,420 grant from the Fred Meyer Foundation. The funds will be used to support NHS’ Resident Services Program. The NHS Resident Services Program provides educational, cultural, social and inspirational activities to residents living in affordable multi-family communities owned and managed by NHS. Specifically, the Fred Meyer Foundation grant will be used towards a Community Garden Project.
The NHS Community Garden Project will teach children the importance of understanding how food grows and create the opportunity to apply nutritional education to daily life. It will also teach the significance of working together and sharing in the harvest. “NHS is very grateful to the Fred Meyer Foundation for this generous donation to our Community Garden Project,” stated NHS Executive Director, Tom Lay. Once again the Foundation and Fred Meyer employees have demonstrated their concern for their community. We deeply appreciate their support.”
Thank you, Fred Meyer Foundation!
