With a backdrop of Paint The Town™ art entries from Boise students, Mayor Dave Bieter will proclaim June 9th as the 25th Anniversary Paint The Town™ Day and June 2-9 as NeighborWorks® Week. The ceremony will take place on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 2:00pm in the Boise City Hall Atrium.
The Mayor’s Paint The Town™ Day Proclamation recognizes this 25th Anniversary community service project that benefits senior and disabled homeowners who find it difficult to maintain the beauty and condition of their homes. During this 25th year, 86 homes in 9 Treasure Valley communities will be painted and revitalized.
Every year, during the first week in June, NHS joins NeighborWorks® organizations across the country in celebrating National NeighborWorks® Week. Tens of thousands of volunteers work together in a week of neighborhood change and awareness. These volunteers help rehab and repair homes, paint and landscape properties, conduct neighborhood tours and host a number of events that educate, train and inform.
Paint The Town™ is NHS’ premier National NeighborWorks® Week event. Our annual volunteer group of 2,000 volunteers makes Paint The Town™ the largest National NeighborWorks Week event in the country!
