Kmart & the Boise Police Association,
Our Kids are Starting School Ready to Learn

On August 18th, 100.3 The X Radio Station hosted the 3rd Annual School Supply Drive. Throughout the 8-hour “live” broadcast at Kmart, DJs encouraged listeners to donate school supplies to help children living in NHS’ affordable multifamily communities and homeless family program. The X gave away an all-expense paid trip to a concert in Phoenix as an incentive for donors. And it worked! By the end of the day, five large bins were overflowing with backpacks, pens and pencils, protractors, crayons and more!!

The following day, sixty children shopped for new school clothes as part of the Boise Police Association’s Annual " Shop with a Cop." Many of the children are residents of NHS’ Homeward Bound Program for homeless families. Each child was assigned a Boise Police Officer “shopping buddy" to help them select their new clothes. All of the clothes were purchased by the Police Association.

A total of 150 children who live in NHS’ affordable housing were benefited by these two events. “These children would not have school clothes and supplies without help from the community,” said Neighborhood Housing Services’ Executive Director, Tom Lay. “We are grateful to 100.3 The X, the Boise Police Association and KMart for their generosity.”

THANK YOU to 100.3 The X, KMart and the Boise Police Association!!
