School Supply Drive to Benefit Over 200 Children

NHS staff Kallie Wren and Terry Graves ham it up with Ian from The X at our annual School Supply Drive. This is the fourth year that 100.3 The X, Journal Broadcasting’s Rock & 90’s radio station, has hosted the event, collecting school supplies for children living in NHS’ affordable multifamily communities in Boise and Nampa.
DJs from The X broadcast live at Kmart and encouraged all listeners and community to donate school supplies. In exchange, donors were able to enter a drawing for tickets to the X Fest. The incentive worked! By the end of the day, five large bins were overflowing with backpacks, pens and pencils, protractors, crayons and more!!
“We have over 350 children living in our affordable multifamily communities,” said NHS Executive Director, Tom Lay. “Many of them need help getting the necessary supplies for the new school year. Education is critical to breaking the cycle of poverty and we do everything we can to support these children and their school activities.”
Thank you 100.3 The X, Kmart and all the generous donors!
