Time
to Winterize
Is your home drafty and cold during the winter months? Is your heating
bill way too high? With the rising costs of utilities it is very
important that your home is weatherized. Weatherizing your home
can noticeably reduce your energy costs. The following list is what
you can do to make your home more energy efficient.
| |
Use
weather stripping or caulk to seal your home's exterior doors
and windows. |
| |
Repair
or replace any defective storm or thermopane windows. |
| |
Seal
heat delivery ducts and drafts to prevent loss of heat. |
| |
Insulate
walls, attics, and floors. |
| |
Install
a water heater blanket. |
| |
Have
your furnace tuned up, replacing any worn or defective parts. |
EI-ADA Community Action Agency provides energy
assistance and weatherization for limited income households.
