Create a Painting Team 

2015 Team Registration Deadline Has Passed

Team Requirements:

    • Have a minimum of 10 committed adults (20 adults is recommended)
    • Commit to all prep work and painting of your assigned home (you may request to be paired with another team to help you) - to be completed on or before June 13th
    • Provide $100 registration fee to help with paint and supply costs
    • Become advocates for Paint The Town - spread the word about your participation, recruit others to participate and/or donate. 



 Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to paint the entire house in 1 day?

No - we recommend that you split up the project into multiple visits.  Paint The Town™ volunteer teams are responsible for the following:

    • Preparing the house for paint (removing dust, loose paint and debris)
    • Applying primer to bare wood spots & caulk for appearance and energy conservation
    • Painting the house exterior

Once you receive your paint and supplies at Distribution May 30, you can start prepping and painting at any time.  Be sure to communicate with your assigned homeowner so they know when to expect you.  You will have 2 weeks to work – we ask that projects are complete by Paint The Town™ Day - June 13, 2015.

Why is there a $100 team registration fee and what if my group is unable to pay it?

The registration fee was implemented a few years ago to help cover the increasing costs of paint, supplies and program operations.  We continue to see a great need for this program, and with your help, we can continue this program and serve more homeowners than last year.

Teams who are unable to front the registration fee can raise the money through our Buy A Bucket program.  Please contact us at 258-6222 for alternate registration.

Why should I buy (or sell) buckets of paint?

Many low-income, senior and disabled homeowners cannot physically manage or afford routine maintenance on their homes.  They need Paint The Town™ to maintain their independent living status and keep their homes and neighborhoods well-maintained.  Since 1983, over 86,498 volunteers have revitalized 3,160 homes.  Due to increased costs of paint, supplies, and program operations, we need YOUR help to make sure that Paint The Town™ continues for years to come!

I don't have a team to join. Can I still participate?

Yes! We are looking for individuals to join our DREAM TEAM

We also invite individuals to participate in the Kickoff Event on May 30, and we need some volunteers to help behind the scenes. If you can volunteer on May 30, please contact us at 258-6222 or paintthetown@nhsid.org.

When will we have our assignments and the supplies?

Assignments will be sent to team captains by May 15, 2015.  Paint supply pick up will be May 30 at the Paint The Town™ Kickoff Event!
